Salto del Itata Falls

Today was Pday! Many people have told us of the beautiful Salto del Itata Falls so we took a little drive  to see them for ourselves. The city is a little claustrophobic to me so I love to get out in the country. We drove through a forest. Many of the forests here are man made.

They plant the trees in tidy little rows
We passed the lumber yard where they process all those trees

We were on this dirt road for several miles
We passed this campground and wondered if Brett would like to bring his scouts for an overnighter

Good thing we got some great directions from our friends. These were the signs marking the way...

And if you didn't look close they would be very easy to miss

Our car was a little dirty when we finally arrived

But it was so worth it! The falls are huge - 260 feet!

Always the ham :)
Here's a little video so you can appreciate the power and majesty of the falls -

We had such a fun morning exploring this beautiful country that we live in. Be sure to add the falls to the list of things you would like to see when you come visit!
